An excellent example of early 20th century industrial architecture, the Artscape Wychwood Barns are located in Toronto on a 4.3 acre site between Wychwood Avenue and Christie Street, south of St. Clair Avenue West along Benson Avenue. Artscape has transformed the historic streetcar repair barns into the Artscape Wychwood Barns – a multifaceted community centre where arts and culture, environmental leadership, heritage preservation, urban agriculture and affordable housing are brought together to foster a strong sense of community. Artscape Wychwood Barns houses 13 not-for-profit organizations, 15 artist studios and 26 artist live/work spaces. A community gallery also provides public access to arts and culture. Artscape Wychwood Barns officially opened in November 2008. Artscape Wychwood Barns are comprised of four components: the Studio Barn, the Covered Street Barn, the Community Barn and The Stop Community Food Centre’s Green Barn. Artscape Wychwood Barns are wheelchair accessible. The Covered Street Barn is available for rental year-round for community events, conferences, weddings and festivals. Please Note Our Good Neighbour Policy Prior to Requesting Your Booking

The Covered Street Barn is situated in a predominantly residential area. To minimize disruption to our neighbours, the Barns abide by the Municipal Code of Toronto Chapter 241 (noise bylaw). No amplified sound (voice or music) or loud performances may begin before 7:30 am nor extend past 10:00 pm, including sound checks. For this reason, we ask that all events end by 10:00 pm. All sound must remain under 85dB as measured from the surrounding sidewalk. At all times, event organizers should not shine lights directly into any neighbouring buildings. Use of spotlights, intelligent lights or klieg lights is subject to approval by Artscape.
